Discovery Days 2012

The University’s most recently appointed professors will join forces with its award winning teachers next January to share their passion for their subject in the ninth annual Discovery Days series of 15 minute talks.

*Everyone is welcome to this free event, which will be hosted at the University of Dundee’s Dalhousie Building on Old Hawkhill. We welcome members of the public, colleagues and professionals and we encourage enquiries from secondary school teachers who might consider supervising a class visit to one of the one hour sessions.*

Sixteen new professors from a wide variety of disciplines will be taking part in the annual showcase of academic talent and cutting edge research alongside three of the winners of this year’s teaching awards.

We are delighted to announce that the first Stephen Fry Award for Excellence in Public Engagement with Research will also be presented at the final session of the Discovery Days from 3:15-3:45pm on Friday 13th January.

At this event each presenter will have just 15 minutes to captivate, inform and entertain their audience. Crucially, the final 15 minutes of each session is your chance to put your questions to the speakers. More here
